Disneyland is known as the happiest place on {tip text=" Terra" title=" earth "} earth {/tip}. But it’s had a lot of problems over the years, including disasters and even {tip text=" mortes" title="deaths "} deaths {/tip}.

Walt Disney had the idea for Disneyland from going to small {tip text=" parques temáticos" title=" theme parks "} theme parks {/tip} with his children. He wanted to build {tip text="construir" title=" earth "} earth {/tip} a place where parents and children could have fun together because this was difficult in Los Angeles at that time. He bought a site in Anaheim and lived in an apartment over the fire station while people built the theme park around him. After Disneyland opened, Walt continued to live there sometimes and you can still visit his apartment today.

About 28,000 people went to Disneyland’s opening day, on July 17th, 1955. It was a total disaster! About half of the people used {tip text="ingressos falsos" title=" fake tickets "} fake tickets {/tip} to get in, so the park was {tip text=" superlotado" title=" overcrowded "} overcrowded {/tip}. It was also very hot, at 38˚C. The street surface {tip text=" estava duro e grudava no sapato das pessoas" title=" wasn’t dry, and stuck to people’s shoes "} wasn’t dry, and stuck to people’s shoes {/tip}. The drinking fountains {tip text=" não estavam funcionando" title=" weren’t working "} weren’t working {/tip} and there wasn’t {tip text=" suficiente" title=" enough "} enough {/tip} food for everyone. Three areas of the park – Fantasyland, Adventureland and Frontierland – had to close because of a {tip text=" vazamento de gás" title=" gas leak "} gas leak {/tip}. And, by the end of the day, about half of the {tip text=" atrações, brinquedos do parque" title=" rides "} rides {/tip} were broken.

After opening day, many people thought that Disneyland {tip text=" seria um fracasso" title=" would be a failure "} would be a failure {/tip}: {tip text=" estavam absolutamente errados" title=" they were very wrong "} they were very wrong {/tip}. More than 650 million people have visited the park since then, making it the most visited theme park in the world. Disneyland is now called Disneyland Park, and is part of the Disneyland Resort. The resort also has a second theme park, called Disney California Adventure, three hotels and an area known as Downtown Disney, which has shops, restaurants and a cinema.

Disneyland is a place you go to to feel like a child again. It has lots of places to eat but only one place where you can drink alcohol, and that’s a restaurant called Club 33. If you want to visit Club 33, you have {tip text="reservar com 10 anos de antecedência" title=" to book 10 years in advance "} to book 10 years in advance {/tip} and pay {tip text=" pelo menos" title=" at least "} at least {/tip} US$1,000. The park has had some accidents over the years, and a few people have even died there. One of the last big accidents was in 2003, when the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad {tip text=" a montanha russa descarrilhou" title=" roller coaster derailed "} roller coaster derailed {/tip}, killing one young man and {tip text=" ferindo" title=" injuring "} injuring {/tip} 10 other visitors. In spite of its problems, Disneyland continues to have about 15 million visitors a year. It also continues to make the dreams of children, young and old, come true.

The more time you spend at Disneyland, the more it will cost you.

There are various types of ticket available, but the entrance fee is not cheap!

Gas leak.
